El Cachivache Quinteto
Athens Tango Week is proud to present El Cachivache Quinteto, currently one of the most popular tango groups worldwide. Widely recognized on the world music circuit, sometimes called 'Tango Punk' the group is characterized by its undeniably creative, original, and dynamic style and very “danceable ''.
In 2008, two Argentinian musicians living in Spain, Vito Venturino (guitar) and Pablo Montanelli (Piano) reconnect with their Porteno roots and form the group Cachivache. They quickly attract attention in Europe and Asia for their very distinctively modern style. Once resettled in Buenos Aires, they begin to compose original pieces while also at the same time continuing to thrill dancers and fans of classic tango arrangements with an undeniably contemporary sound.
Featuring a repertoire composed of original pieces and tango classics, they thrill fans with their undeniably contemporary and very edgy sound.
From May until September of this year, El Quinteto Cachivache is on a world tour and will perform in more than 50 cities on three continents.
In Athens, ElCachivache will be joined on stage by dancers Carlos Dall'Asta & Maria Karageorgou. The concert will be followed by a tango dance evening (with guest Dj).
